Senior Commercial Advisor Healthy Waters

Date: 13-Oct-2021

Location: Central Auckland, NZ, 1010

Company: Auckland Council

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Commercial Advisor to join our Commercial Partnerships team in the Healthy Waters department.

You will be an integral part of the Healthy Waters team. You will have the opportunity to work with council teams, mana whenua, and developers around development and infrastructure proposals, proposals to restore Auckland’s streams, and disputes. You will advise on commercial negotiations, statutory interpretation, and draft correspondence and agreements. You will contribute to the planning, design, construction, and life cycle management of Auckland’s healthy waters network.

He kōrero mōu: About you

We’re looking for someone who has knowledge and experience working with commercial and property transactions, resource management and public works files, and disputes resolution. You will have a tertiary qualification in law or commercial law.  Prior experience with stormwater management, stakeholder engagement, and iwi consultation, would be valuable.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A natural collaborator, we will value your strong relationship-building and communication skills as you’ll be working with wider internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive strategic outcomes.
As this role may require you to occasionally travel around the region using Council vehicles, you’ll also hold a full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

This is a permanent position.

You will work in a flexible and supportive work environment. We provide opportunities for professional development, and as we work closely with planners and specialists across Auckland Council, Auckland Transport, Watercare and consultancies, you will build a strong professional network.
