He angitūtanga: The opportunity


We are on a journey to become a design-driven and product centric organisation in order to deliver inspiring experiences that enable our customers.  To make this possible we are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the ICT Digital team.


In this role you will working with the Operations Lead, and you will be part of the Digital team that provide a range of invaluable IT support services to our employees.


This includes:


  • To support TAU by providing quality technology solutions and services, acting as a trusted advisor, and advocating best practice
  • Deliver first and second level support for all agreed business systems.
  • Drives to completion support issues utilising good triage practices including engagement with wider ICT team members and owning escalation to Vendors and/or Senior Management if required.
  • Leads, measures, and reports on adherence to and currency of operational documentation.
  • Role model for adherence to service management practices and principles.
  • Reviews definitions for acceptance criteria for new, changed or upgraded business systems including testing ensuring they are fit for purpose and proposes changes where required.
  • Leads and promotes agile methodologies and working practices.
  • On-call services provided for weekend and after-hours support

You will be customer focused, have superior interpersonal skills and be self-motivated. This role will require you to be an expert in your field and to work with minimal supervision. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with those you interact with, and you will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.  To excel in this role, you will also have:



  • 7+ years of broad experience in IT
  • 5+ years of experience in the implementation of diverse business systems in a complex business environment.
  • Able to lead input at all stages of the Project Delivery lifecycle, including design and operational insights and deliverables.
  • Excellent and proven stakeholder management.
  • Strong and proven experience with software development and system administration.
  • Strong and proven experience in SaaS solutions enablement, integration methods and modern APIs.
  • Excellent working knowledge in and of agile methodologies, digital/online, applications and middleware technologies are essential, mobile is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Agile and lean delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with various operating systems (e.g., Windows, UNIX) and databases (e.g., MySQL).
