The Community Facilities Department is committed to making great places Aucklanders love while supporting a number of related services such as asset management and renewals of existing buildings and structures. We are committed to a best practice asset management lifecycle approach to build, maintain and renew our world class community buildings and public spaces including parks, walkways, libraries and leisure centres. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the safety and wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes. 
We have an opportunity which will allow you to contribute to strengthening our ability to deliver the best city we can. As a senior assessor, you’ll be part of a technical team that works across the Auckland Region, assessing the condition, risk and resilience of buildings and structures.  Your analysis and recommendations will inform our maintenance and renewal programmes.


You’ll make decisions 'on the spot' about construction, structural and civil engineering matters. This might include recommending response and remedial action for any built assets that are less effective or require further attention. You will support your department by conducting impartial and objective analysis and reporting on the Community Facilities buildings and structures portfolio which will help to determine technical performance, condition, compliance, efficiency and useful service life expectancy.

He kōrero mōu: About you
As the preferred candidate for this role, you’ll be tertiary qualified in structural or civil engineering and/or building surveying along with experience in assessing infrastructure and building assets. Together with asset management experience, you will have proficiency in information systems relating to GIS and asset data collection.

You will be required to have a valid NZ driver's licence due to the nature of the position where you will be required to regularly travel to various Community Facility sites across the Auckland region.
