He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

The purpose of our newly formed Group Services directorate is to help create an Auckland we can all be proud of. Our vision is to ensure our customers love us for the difference we can make, and our people feel excited, proud, and energised.
 

Reporting to the Head of Workforce Systems and Analytics, you will be an expert and trusted advisor in the delivery of workforce insights throughout the organisation, and for the council-controlled organisations that we provide shared services to. 
 

The purpose of the role is to use our people data to deliver insights that support robust fact-based people related decision making and action planning. You will lead the development of our insights programme and ultimately our move to predictive people analytics.  You will also play a key role in building relationships, and capability levels, with our people leaders when it comes to data-based decision-making and insights. This role is not focused on creating data or dashboards, it is focused on extracting value from our data that in turn supports quality decision making.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you
 

Tertiary qualified, in business, HR or business-related discipline and or the equivalent through experience, you will have a minimum of 7+ years’ experience in a workforce analytics, or HR / business analyst role. You will bring prior experience in the use of modern workforce analytics tools and preferably excellent knowledge of HR processes and reporting.
 

Systems savvy, you have strong analytical and quantitative skills, including strong statistical analysis and financial modelling skills, and demonstrated competence in data analysis and project tools. You will also have great analytical insights and turn people data into stories and be the lead on our journey to predictive analytics. This is an exciting opportunity to reform Council’s workforce metrics and reporting so that insights drive decision making and value.

You will possess a natural ability to build and sustain rapport and effective relationships with a full range of stakeholders and have the ability to deal with and gain credibility with senior managers.
