We are recruiting for a Senior Advisor to join the Councillor Support Team. This is a challenging role, so a good attitude and resilience are required. As part of the councillor support team, you will provide high-level advisory, strategic, administrative and relationship management support to members of the governing body. 


You will be working at the heart of council’s political and decision-making processes, supporting a diverse group of the key decision makers for Tāmaki Makaurau. This is an opportunity to work with Auckland’s leaders at a crucial time for the region as we continue to recover economically from the events of COVID-19; embrace significant change and aspire to be a world-class city.

He kōrero mōu: About you


We are seeking passionate Aucklanders who are resilient, proactive team players and adept at building relationships. Ideally, you have experience in the public sector and a relevant tertiary qualification. 


For the Senior Advisor role, we are looking for an experienced advisor (ideally 3 years minimum) who is ready to step up support elected members at a higher level; lead a group of advisors in supporting multiple councillors; and have responsibility for coaching and mentoring those advisors.  Teamwork and collaboration should be second nature. Initiative, strong communication skills and good political acumen are also essential.
