He angitūtanga: The opportunity


This is a unique opportunity to call on your full range of skills and experience.  The Senior API Developer will be a member the API & Development team responsible for the technical API implementation for our API project pipeline. You will be involved in the full system lifecycle including design, development, test, implementation and support.


As a subject matter expert you will lead the development and implantation of APIs using our Enterprise API Management platform (Mulesoft), ensure the architecture is operating efficiently and meeting its business requirements.  You will work alongside senior developers during design to ensure new solutions utilise the API platform effectively and reliably. Your analytical skills will be used to measure performance, detect potential problems and plan for capacity. 


As a key member of the API & Development team you will be involved in building the case for API Microservices and to drive the business towards a better future.


Throughout your day you will learn new skills alongside supportive colleagues working on a wide range of business problems.  The team value personal development and you will have the opportunity to learn and experiment with new innovative solutions. You will also provide back up support to the Principal API Developer.


He kōrero mōu: About you


  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 7+ years’ experience working in IT in software development and integration
  • 3+ years in API development, preferably using Mulesoft, Anypoint studio, Mule runtime and CloudHub
  • Experience with CICD tools such as Azure DevOps, and/or Attalsian toolset.  
  • A broad range of knowledge in developing different types of API using Micro services and event-based architect is paramount for this role.
  • Since you will be involved in evangelizing the potential of an API led architecture, your proven exposure in coaching technical team, combined with your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be heavily put into practice.
