Tātaki Auckland Unlimited is Auckland Council’s economic and cultural agency, working to grow Tāmaki Makaurau as a vibrant, globally connected city. It brings together destination marketing, major events, arts, culture, and economic development to attract investment, support local businesses, and create opportunities for communities to thrive.
This role will support the delivery of the Tātaki Auckland Unlimited security programme, always ensuring the highest possible standards are maintained.
The focus of this role is preparedness, readiness, being proactive, and the growth of our people.
Working from the central communication centre on a 24/7 (5 days on and 2 off roster), you will provide support to your indirect reports, being Security Officers, Control Room Officers, and Mobile Patrol Officers.
You will report directly to COMCEN Team Leader, with no direct reports.
This role may require work outside normal business hours, so you will need to have reliable transport and be comfortable working shifts.

You’re an experienced security professional who thrives in fast-paced environments. You bring sound judgement, a calm approach under pressure, and a genuine commitment to assisting and developing others.
You’ll also have:
- Proven experience in the NZ security industry desired.
- Strong incident management, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills
- Confidence managing security systems, reporting, and operational processes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage across a wide range of stakeholders
Qualifications and Licences:
- You will need to either hold a Certificate of Approval (COA) and/or an NZQA National Certificate in Security (Level 3) or are you willing and able to obtain them if appointed.
