Retail Co-ordinator
The New Zealand Maritime Museum Hui Te Ananui a Tangaroa preserves, collects, and interprets Aotearoa New Zealand’s maritime heritage.
This role focuses on driving shop sales and actively contributing to achieving sales targets, along with increasing conversion rates and revenues. This role will support the team in areas such as inventory management, stock fulfilment, and merchandising.
You will be part of the Front of House team and will report to the Visitor Services Manager.
This is a brand-new role within a close-knit, multi-talented and upbeat team, and you’ll be able to really carve out a niche spot for yourself.
This is a permanent, part time role of 15 hours per week (flexible according to your availability)
He kōrero mōu: About you
You will be a creative person with an understanding of retail POS systems, a real drive for sales and vision for future growth and development.
We would like to see you having strong communication skills and ability to liaise with suppliers, customers and your team members with ease and confidence.
From a practical point of view, exposure to the e-commerce experience and using Shopify already will be ideal! (Although we can train you if need be)
As guidelines for the right candidate, you will also have:
- a minimum 2 year’s retail sales experience
- managerial/supervising experience would be advantageous.
- Qualifications required: Minimum NCEA Level 3

The salary for this role sits between 48 – 52k, skillset and experience dependant.
