Our Recruitment & Talent department has an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Team Leader to join us on a permanent full-time basis. 

 

Leading a dynamic recruitment team, you will act as a key player collaborating with senior stakeholders across the Auckland Council Group, ensuring seamless hiring processes and fostering a culture of excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Inspiring Excellence: Create an environment that motivates and empowers your team. Foster open communication and a positive atmosphere.
  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee day-to-day activities, track metrics, and report on team performance.
  • Coaching and Development: Identify training needs and provide coaching to enhance team members’ skills.
  • Budget Management: Manage recruitment budgets effectively.

He kōrero mōu: About you


To excel as the Recruitment Team Leader, you will have a robust set of proven leadership skills. Effective communication is paramount, enabling you to articulate vision, goals, and feedback clearly and constructively. You should be adept at inspiring and motivating your team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.


You will be an experienced leader, ideally within the talent space, and strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities are a key part of your toolkit as they will be crucial for navigating challenges and driving the team towards success.


As we strive to continue to be a diverse organisation, an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, with previous experience within D,E&I programmes or influencing change with diversity outcomes is a must. 

 

We will also be looking for the following skills: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree qualification in a People-related field, Commerce, Business, or relevant experience.
  • At least 5-7  years experience in a leadership position within recruitment or HR
  • Knowledge of NZ employment legislation and HR practices would be desirable
