He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Auckland Council’s Treasury Department has an opportunity for a Property Products Team Leader to join the Rates, Valuation and Data Management team.

 

This pivotal leadership role is responsible for ensuring Auckland Council’s Property Products are delivered accurately, consistently, and in line with legislative and business requirements. You will foster a high‑performing team environment, support process improvement, and ensure robust, reliable property information that underpins critical council operations.

 

Please note this is a fixed term/secondment parental leave cover until December 2026.

 

You can expect to work on:

  • Leading and developing a team of 10–19 property product specialists
  • Ensuring Property Products meet legislative and SLA requirements
  • Overseeing workflow, workload management, and performance monitoring
  • Building effective internal and external customer relationships
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes and systems

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

This role requires strong leadership experience within large, complex organisations and be confident working across legislation, systems and customer‑focused service delivery.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

  • Proven people leadership with a track record of coaching and developing teams
  • Experience in customer‑facing operational environments
  • Ability to assess processes, identify improvements, and implement best practice
  • Familiarity with EDRMS and CRM systems (highly desirable)

 

An understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., LGOIMA, Building Act, RMA, Privacy Act) is highly desirable but not essential.
