Auckland Council’s Healthy Waters and Flood Resilience department has a fixed term opportunity for a Project Manager (known internally as Healthy Waters Specialist) within the Renewal Projects Delivery team. Reporting to the Renewal Projects Delivery Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing the planning, design and construction of a portfolio of stormwater-related infrastructure projects.
This is fixed term full time position until March 2027.
Day-to-day you will be required to:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop project briefs and business cases
- Procure and manage external suppliers and internal specialists for the design and construction of projects
- Act as “Client’s Representative” on professional services contracts and “Principal’s Representative” on NZS 3910:2023 construction contracts
- Manage project risks and provide regular progress reporting to senior management and elected members
- Enhance council’s reputation by always behaving in a professional and collaborative manner
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Work with Healthy Waters’ operational and planning staff, other council departments and other members of the council family - Watercare Services, Auckland Transport and others - to achieve great outcomes for Auckland
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires experience in delivering similar infrastructure projects, preferably in a public sector organisation, excellent stakeholder rapport and good communication skills.
Specifically, we are looking for:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or environmental science
- An industry-recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Experience in local government or other public-sector client bodies
- 5+ years’ project management experience in delivering horizontal infrastructure projects
