He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

As part of the Parks & Community Facilities Department, you’ll be working with a diverse team of subject matter experts who are passionate about delivering tangible results for the local community and future generations. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council parks and facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes. This includes across asset maintenance, management and renewals of Parks, Open Spaces, Buildings, Facilities, Conservation Areas and Urban Ngahere (forest).

 

We have a great opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Project Specialisation Office. You’ll lead project teams, including external stakeholders, contractors and consultants, to deliver high complexity new capital works and renewal projects, and be responsible for end -to-end project management and delivery, as well as maintaining effective relationships with business owners, customers and project stakeholders.  

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

As a Project Manager, alongside your experience in construction site monitoring, you’ll bring with you experience in capital works project delivery (including renewals projects). Ideally, this will include some experience leading multiple project teams responsible for significant capital works budgets.

 

You’ll be well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively, being savvy to deal with ambiguity while making quality decisions in a dynamic challenging environment. It should go without saying that you have the agility to work cross functionally across the unit and other departments while managing a number of diverse projects at the same time.

 

Alongside a collaborative nature and solid relationship management skills, you’ll bring a clear customer service ethic as well as a sense of personal ownership and responsibility.
