He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager and a Project Manager to join our Project Specialisation Office, within Parks & Community Facilities. Leading project teams to deliver high complexity new capital works and renewal projects, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end project management and delivery, as well as maintaining effective relationships with business owners, customers and project stakeholders.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and stakeholders, to define project scope, develop project plans, and manage project timelines and budgets.
Within the Senior role, you’ll also provide coaching and mentoring opportunities to project managers across the region and provide technical advice as you lead the delivery of project outputs and outcomes, ensuring accurate fiscal advice in planning, budget allocation and cash flow forecasting.

You’ll be well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively, being savvy to deal with ambiguity while making quality decisions in a dynamic challenging environment. It should go without saying that you have the ability to work cross functionally across the unit and other departments while managing a number of diverse projects at the same time.
Alongside a collaborative nature and solid relationship management skills, you’ll bring a clear customer service ethic as well as a sense of personal ownership and responsibility.
As a Senior Project Manager, in addition to experience in construction site monitoring, you’ll have significant experience in capital works project delivery (including renewals projects) and leading multiple project teams responsible for significant and complex budgets (of a value up to $20 million).
As a Project Manager, alongside your experience in construction site monitoring, you’ll bring with you experience in capital works project delivery (including renewals projects). Ideally, this will include some experience leading multiple project teams responsible for significant capital works budgets.
Ideally, you’ll have experience in the design & build of HVAC mechanical services projects and technically proficiency in Building Service Engineering.
