  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop policy and process to support change in delegated decision making, service and funding levels
  • Engage with executive and elected members to provide programme delivery reporting at agreed intervals

He angitūtanga: The Opportunity

It’s an exciting time for our Regional Service Planning, Investment and Partnerships department. Formed in mid-2021, a new leadership team was created to drive directorate-wide change in how we plan and deliver services for the communities of Tāmaki Makaurau and to strengthen our capacity to deliver for Māori.

We have an 18 month opportunity for a Project Implementation Lead to join the Service Investment and Programming leadership team. In October 2021, Council approved increasing local board responsibility for decisions over local community services and to progress development of proposals to change how funding is allocated to local boards for those services. This role will be responsible for the implementation of these decisions.

These proposals were developed under the Service Levels and Funding project which was established under the Governance Framework Review (GFR) programme to investigate:

  • how local boards might be given greater decision-making responsibility over local community services
  • options for more equitable funding of local boards for local community services
  • possible minimum service levels that Governing Body might require, and
  • implications on organisational support

Reporting to the Head of Service Investment and Programming, this is a senior role where the incumbent will be confident engaging with a wide and varied range of stakeholders, including executive and elected members. This is an exciting opportunity where you know your efforts will be valued and make a significant difference to Aucklanders.
