Parks & Community Facilities (PCF) is committed to making great places Aucklanders love while supporting a number of related services such as asset management and renewals of existing structures and open areas. Committed to a lifecycle approach to asset management, we work to build, maintain and renew community buildings and public spaces including parks, walkways, libraries and play grounds. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes. 


As Programme Manager (Full Facilities Contracts) you’ll utilise your project management and contract management skills to engage with our contractors to deliver a set of capital works projects with target delivery KPI’s and performance measures for the Albert-Eden and Puketāpapa Local Board areas & Regional Cemeteries.


You’ll engage in consultation with customers and stakeholders to provide sound advice when required, taking ownership of reporting, financial planning/allocation, managing our contractors performance, forecasting and phasing during execution stage and ensuring optimum value for money is achieved.


He kōrero mōu: About you
 

We’ll be looking for a degree or tertiary qualification, and a qualification in programme and/or project management (e.g prince2, PMP, CAPM, C3PM or equivalent) would be advantageous.  


You’ll have the ability to make decisions on the spot, proven communication expertise, strong collaboration skills and the ability to ‘manage’ the quality outcomes of a large portfolio of asset types, people and stakeholders. Relationship building and collaboration will be core to your success in this role. You will foster strong working relationships across a variety of areas, encouraging engagement and positively influencing all parties to ensure a successful outcome.


We need a pragmatic individual with political nous who guides outcomes through influence and good communication. You’ll have proven relevant experience in capital works and/or renewals projects and programmes and be able to demonstrate excellent programme and project management, interpersonal and communication skills alongside solid experience in the services sector as well as business improvement projects within large complex environments.

Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, you’ll have some flexibility with how those hours are set.

You will be required to have a valid NZ driver's licence due to the nature of the position where you will be required to regularly travel to various Community Facility sites across the Auckland region.
