Auckland Council’s Infrastructure & Environment Services division has an opportunity for a Programme Coordinator to join our Funding Delivery team. 

This critical role is focused on providing support within the programme toward reaching the programme’s aims and objectives, whilst maintaining discretion and confidentiality to all matters relating to the Development Programme Office and the programmes.


Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Existing and new projects, including managing and leading key deliverables
  • Contributing to the establishment of the appropriate project team structures and work practices
  • Ensure high degree of an integrated, cross-functional Programme Administration Plans are aligned with greater Programme Control Plans according to associated standards and procedures
  • Create & support standardized templates and codes, processes for programme workshops, plans work assignments
  • Prepare report and analyse programme along with the Programme Manager.

This role requires experience 3-5 years’ experience in similar project or programme coordination roles, ideally from within large and complex organisations. 


We will be looking for specific experience with:

  • Procurement process management
  • Understanding and implementing business processes
  • Knowledge of local government environment, council practices and constraints is desirable.


You will be able to:

  • Effectively exchange accurate, appropriate and relevant information with stakeholders
  • Manage multiple tasks at one time and prioritise your time to concentrate on activities that add the greatest value
  • Build strong working relationships with all parties 
  • Deal effectively with difficult people, situations and behaviours to resolve conflict situations.
