He angitūtanga: The opportunity


The Three Waters (3W) Reform Programme is a national change to the way water services are provided to Aotearoa. Over the next two years, water services across the country will be transferred to a new water service entity. This transition will be managed by a National Transition Unit and for the Auckland region, Auckland Council will have a key role to play in the reform and in ensuring the transition is managed well. 

 

We have a newly created two-year fixed term opportunity for a programme coordinator within Auckland Council’s Three Waters Transition Office (3WTO). The 3WTO’s priority is to facilitate the transition and to focus on the impact on council operations, staff, communities, and key partnerships to ensure that council can deliver on its strategic objectives. 

 

You will work closely with council workstream leads and other stakeholders to coordinate transition activity. Your main responsibilities will be to support the 3WTO Lead with the coordination of the programme and to provide timely information on programme/project status and milestones. Along with regular support to workstream leads, you will help facilitate the coordination of information requests from the Department of Internal Affairs and manage sensitive and important issues, ensuring escalation to relevant people.

Your demonstrated experience or exposure to programmes or projects will stand you in good stead for this role.  An understanding of or experience working in local government will be an advantage.

 

You are self-motivated with impeccable attention to detail. You are technically minded, systems savvy, and an advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Word.  We will value your sound data analysis and report writing skills.  With exceptional communications skills and an outstanding customer service ethic, you are a natural at building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. You are confident in your ability to juggle competing priorities and enjoy working in a diverse team environment.
