He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Programme Coordinator to join our team in the new Auckland Urban Development Office. As a Programme Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Priority Location Director and team members in effectively planning, monitoring, and reporting on programme and project progress. You will maintain high-quality programme and project management standards while providing technical support and guidance to Project Leads and the Priority Location Director.
 
Day-to-day you could expect to work on:
- Programme Planning: Provide support and programme/project information required in the ongoing planning and refinement of programme plans.
 - Programme Monitoring and Reporting: Assist in monitoring programme and project progress, ensuring timely sharing of information regarding timelines, goals, costs, benefits, changes, and risks.
 - Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to shape Auckland’s future growth and resilience.
 - Quality assurance: Provide guidance, assistance, audit and review of programme and project information and documentation.
 - Secretariat Support: Support the Location Director and managers in ensuring effective decision-making processes by organizing and coordinating meetings, preparing presentations, and monitoring the governance framework.
 
He kōrero mōu: About you
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and experience:
- Formal programme or project management certification (e.g. MSP®, Prince2) – is desirable.
 - Programme and project management: Experience working within a structured project governance environment, with a sound understanding of project management frameworks and project lifecycles.
 - Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 - Minimum 3 years of experience: In a similar programme or project coordinator role, adhering to an established Programme or Project Management Framework.
 - Proficiency in Microsoft suite software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint Outlook.
 - Understanding of local government processes.
