He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We are looking for a Programme Co-ordinator to join our Central City Hub team in a permanent full-time role primarily based at the Ellen Melville Centre with opportunities to work across all our sites including Ellen Melville Centre, Auckland Central City Library, Albert Park Caretaker’s Cottage, and Te Wharekura.
You will be responsible for responding to local board priorities by creating compelling programme opportunities that engage key communities / audiences and drive high levels of participation. You will also be responsible for manaakitanga, helping to provide a welcoming space for visitors and assisting programming partners where needed.
This is a 40 hours per week full-time position that is primarily Monday to Friday but will require flexibility to work across the seven days and some late nights when required.
Flexibility may be required around working hours including evenings and weekends.

You are skilled in administration and have a passion for organisation, planning, and process. You will want to support impactful community programmes that have reach and community engagement. You will have great attention to detail, be structured, and organised and can manage priorities and relationships effectively. You are a team player and thrive in an environment where collaboration and communication are vital.
We are looking for a team member who:
- Has proven experience in successfully delivering community-based initiatives in diverse communities
- Pragmatic, resilient, and comfortable working in a challenging environment, often with people who have complex needs.
- Well versed in programme planning and project management methodologies
- A confident multi-tasker
- Strong communicator with advanced stakeholder management skills
- Can build and maintain positive and meaningful relationships with the community to better understand their needs and aspirations.
- Well-versed in using social media to promote and connect with communities.
- Has attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
