Our Auckland Council Group Shared Services Procurement team has an opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join the team! As a Procurement Manager you will work alongside our Head of Capital Procurement and the Capital Procurement team to deliver for Aucklanders.
Your role will be to partner with business units to develop and execute capital procurement strategies and plans, in the delivery of the best “value for money” outcomes for Auckland Council. You can expect to work with business units to procure and deliver infrastructure with a “whole of life” cost approach to infrastructure. You will also work on building a pipeline of opportunities and leveraging the council group within infrastructure procurement.
The Auckland Council Group Shared Services Procurement department provides leadership and guidance for spending needs and assists in quality decision making. We work to empower others to deliver within their needs, enabling us to be a more adaptable organisation that focuses on social and sustainable outcomes.
He kōrero mōu: About you
To be successful in this role you will have strong experience in either similar procurement or infrastructure delivery roles, ideally from within large and complex organisations. You will be comfortable with business planning, target setting and measurement with a proven ability in establishing and implementing procurement activity pipelines and category strategies.
You are a strategic and analytical leader with excellent problem-solving skills. Demonstrating exceptional communication, networking, and negotiation skills you will build credible and long-lasting relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. Being customer focused with a drive to anticipate customer needs will be essential. We are seeking a leader that brings a collaborative approach with customers to realise the benefits of early and comprehensive procurement planning, sourcing, negotiating and managing using a strategic approach.
In addition, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification within procurement, commercial, supply chain or engineering
- Membership with MCIPS or a similar professional body
- 5 years within leadership roles including strategic procurement experience
- Procurement acumen and experience implementing organizational objectives into how we engage with our suppliers
