He angitūtanga: The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Principal Project Risk Advisor to join our Auckland Council Risk team. You will have the opportunity to assist in leading the delivery of risk management activities throughout the organisation, working across several business units and key groups including senior managers and other important stakeholders. Working within the Enterprise Risk team you will have exposure to a variety of risk assessments projects, but your main focus will be on construction and infrastructure projects and contracts across Auckland Council including, but not limited to, America’s Cup 36. As this is a senior role, you will drive performance and delivery through your ability to influence your colleagues and stakeholders.

He kōrero mōu: About you

As a person who is knowledgeable about and experienced in Risk, you can explain Risk management in 30 seconds or less and, if asked, give a 5 minute presentation on the topic as well. Degree qualified and almost certainly an affiliated member of a Risk organisation, you have proven experience in the construction and infrastructure sector working in a large organisation with varied stakeholders at all levels. You are not only adept at putting customers at ease with your sound knowledge of risk management methods, processes and procedures but also experienced in evaluation, problem solving, planning and policy development as well as familiar with AS/NZ ISO 31000. Finally, you have a solid understanding of business needs, key drivers and the surrounding political environment and feel at ease working within an executive and board level environment.

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

You will join an award winning team that recently took 2 of the major Risk NZ Awards 2018. This role comes with a level of diversity and complexity you will not find very often alongside the chance to engage with and support key decision-makers on a daily basis. We provide a great work life balance in a team that is fun and outgoing. You will be exposed to a variety of projects like nowhere else (including America’s Cup 36) and have the support to develop new skills. We take staff well being seriously and have excellent career development opportunities.

If you are high performing and passionate, then join us in making a positive impact on Auckland's future. Apply to be a part of this fun, vibrant and unique team telling us why you are interested in and right for this opportunity (by submitting a cover letter along with your CV). If you are an internal candidate (not a temp or contractor), please apply via the Tupu internal careers page.

Applications close on Tuesday, 19 February 2019.

Please note that we may, however, be considering applications as they are received so please do not delay in applying.

Auckland Council is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) and we are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application to assist you through the recruitment process
