Parks & Community Facilities (PCF) is dedicated to making great places Aucklander’s love by supporting several related services such as asset maintenance, management and renewals of Parks, Open Spaces, Buildings, Facilities, Conservation Areas and Urban Ngahere (forest). As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities and environment while also delivering strategically significant programmes.
We have a rare opportunity for an Aquatics Principal Project Manager to join the Project Specialisation Office within Parks & Community Facilities. It’s a specialist role which will see you as the SME for swimming pools and aquatic sites region wide in terms of project delivery. This includes swimming pools, water retaining structures, specialist surfaces and specialist mechanical and electrical plant and specialist furniture.
You’ll also work closely with the Regional Aquatic Facilities Manager to lead and manage the development of the rolling three-year Aquatic capital works delivery programme, and provide advice and coaching to other aquatic specialists.
He kōrero mōu: About you
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll have significant experience in capital works building project delivery, and extensive experience in swimming pools and aquatic centre project delivery. This will include experience in delivering NZS 4441:2008 Swimming Pool Design, and we’d like to see a tertiary qualification in programme and/or project management (e.g. Prince2, PMP, CAPM, C3PM or equivalent).
You’ll be well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively, being savvy to deal with ambiguity while making quality decisions in a dynamic environment while managing a number of diverse projects at the same time.
Alongside a collaborative nature and solid relationship management skills, you’ll bring a clear customer service ethic as well as a sense of personal ownership and responsibility.
