He angitūtanga: The opportunity

As a Principal Project Lead in the Premium Unit you’ll be working in collaboration with high profile applicants by assisting them to develop and obtain their consenting needs using ‘premium’ end to end customer service. The Premium Unit is a small, energised team of Project Leaders who are responsible for project managing the most complex and high-profile resource consents in Auckland.  The team facilitates a wide range of high-profile development projects, from major subdivisions and nationally significant infrastructure projects to large scale residential and commercial developments.


We are particularly looking for driven resource consent Project Leads to programme manage, amongst other things, resource consent requirements for the high-profile Auckland Housing programme with reporting to Senior Management in Council, MBIE, HNZC and HLC. You’ll have all the delegations of a Team Leader in the Resource Consent environment and will lead project teams of internal and external planners, specialists, engineers and other personnel who are all required to input through the resource consents process. This involves chairing PCGs, providing advice around consenting strategy, identifying risk and coordinating inputs, reporting to cross Council steering and/ or governance groups. Strong hearing experience and some environment court experience beneficial.


You’ll also be required to collaborate with a diverse range of units across Council and its CCO’s in order to resolve issues that may impede the consenting process. You’ll also liaise with teams responsible for managing communications and media, Local Board, MPs and members of the community.


He kōrero mōu: About you

You have leadership experience with strong people leadership skills and at least 8 years’ experience in the resource management field or a tertiary degree. You are someone with strong mediation, facilitation, influencing and collaboration capabilities with project management experience in a multi-disciplinary environment. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong problem solving and are capable of resolving issues. A valid NZ driver’s license is also required.
