He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

 


Auckland Council’s Policy Department has a fixed term opportunity until June 2027 for a full time Principal Policy Advisor to join the Community Investment team.

 

As a seasoned policy professional, you will provide high quality policy advice to decision-makers, to ensure Aucklanders have equitable access to open space, sports and recreation and community services, while balancing affordability and value for money considerations.

 

You will enjoy navigating the political environment and will get satisfaction from analysis, problem solving, providing evidence-based solutions and influencing outcomes.

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

This role requires extensive experience in developing policy.  You have experience in similar roles within large, complex, or political organisations.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

 

  • strong strategic thinker
  • advanced analytical and research skills
  • top notch verbal and written communication
  • ability to drive projects and programmes of work
  • experience in mentoring

This role has a remuneration range of $125,000-$140,000

Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
