He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council is one of the largest local government authorities in the South Pacific and contracts out a range of work from design and delivery of underground infrastructure through to community engagement.

We would like to hear from senior contracts managers with broad experience in high value and complex infrastructure projects, along with experience in teaching, mentoring and coaching.

You will be part of a small team within council’s  Infrastructure and Environmental Services Division that works across the organisation to define what ‘best practice’ means for contract management of infrastructure contracts, and to enhance the contracts culture towards maximising value for ratepayers' money. You will be accountable for developing training materials, templates and tools, to help inspire and embed good contract management across the organisation. You will get to work with project and contract managers from a diverse range of backgrounds and project types and be a part of setting council’s success for years to come.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You are an experienced contracts manager, having been a consulting engineer or project manager engineer.  You have managed a diverse range of infrastructure-related contracts, including professional services and construction, on either the client or consultant/contractor side. You are now looking forward to sharing your experience, knowledge and insights about how contractors and consultants work. You have a talent for developing and delivering training for a range of levels of expertise, and you have the drive to effect culture change within the organisation.

Politically savvy, you can naturally walk the fine line of influencing and driving results with your stakeholders while maintaining and enhancing positive relationships.  You are practical and solutions focused, adaptable in the face of changing requirements and resilient when dealing with challenging conversations.
