He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Auckland Council’s Policy department has an opportunity for a Principal Advisor to join the Infrastructure Strategy team. 

 

This is a critical role for the Council and will focus on ensuring investment decisions into Auckland's infrastructure is well evidenced and aligns with Auckland Council’s broader regional goals.

 

You could expect to work on:

 

  • advising managers and elected officials on strategic infrastructure issues (such as integration of land use and infrastructure, supporting climate adaptation and emissions mitigation and equity)
  • implementing the current Infrastructure Strategy actions
  • updating the Infrastructure Strategy and supporting the development of Auckland’s Long-Term Plan

 

 


He kōrero mōu: About you

 

This role requires experience in the infrastructure strategy and advisory space. You have experience in similar roles within large, complex, or political organisations.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

 

  • Infrastructure Strategy development and/or implementation in local or central government
  • development and/or implementation of change initiatives in long-term infrastructure planning
  • translation of complex issues into decision options and pathways, including for non-experts
  • building stakeholder trust quickly and tackling long-term issues collaboratively

This role has a remuneration range of $130,000-$140,000

Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
