He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s Policy Department develops and implements a range of strategies and policies that determine how well Auckland functions for future generations.
We are seeking an energic and strategic Portfolio Manager to support the commissioning, review, development and management of a range of projects across the Policy Department.
This is a fantastic, fixed term opportunity until June 2026 for an experienced project manager who enjoys variety, problem solving, and applying their political nous to ensure the efficient delivery of high impact projects.
The type of work you will be involved in includes:
- scoping and implementing the changes within the Policy Department's programme of work
- reviewing and project managing Auckland Council’s resilience programme fund
- scoping out and implementing a project plan and stakeholder engagement strategy for Auckland Council’s Infrastructure Strategy
He kōrero mōu: About you
You are a project manager with proven experience within large or political organisations. Ideally, you would have had exposure to the development of strategies and policies, including the stakeholder strategy and planning components. You enjoy problem solving, particularly breaking down complex tasks into more deliverable components. You feel comfortable working with different teams and have well developed people skills. You will need to be highly organised and flexible, and are able to display initiative.

This role has a remuneration range of $120,000-$130,000
Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
