He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Portfolio Investment Manager to join our Value Management Office, where you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and guiding a $50m+ investment portfolio that underpins key change initiatives across Group Shared Services (GSS). As Portfolio Investment Manager, you’ll be the trusted advisor to senior leaders—ensuring robust governance, financial discipline, and strategic alignment of the GSS investment portfolio. You’ll translate complex information into clear, actionable insights that drive executive decision-making and help the GSS Board prioritise investments for maximum value and impact.
You’ll:
- Lead the development and execution of the GSS investment roadmap.
- Provide critical analysis of financial forecasts, risk profiles, and portfolio performance.
- Guide the Portfolio Governance Group with transparent reporting and recommendations.
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to optimise investment outcomes.
- Establish strong rhythms for reporting, prioritisation, and approvals.

You’re a strategic thinker with a proven track record in portfolio investment management, governance, and risk. You thrive at the intersection of strategy and delivery, and you’re confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Your expertise in risk management frameworks, board operations, and value management enables you to deliver clear, actionable advice—even in complex environments.
You’ll bring:
- Experience leading portfolio roadmaps and integrating governance across value streams.
- Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills.
- The ability to distil complex data into meaningful advice for senior leaders.
