He angitūtanga: The opportunity


We are looking for people with knowledge and passion for the volcanic features, landforms, and geological features of Auckland. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of helping protect and manage the many amazing natural features of Auckland – from our iconic, and lesser-known volcanic features, to coastal cliffs, sand dunes, and fossil forests. 


Our team provide expert ecological and natural features advice and support across council including resource consents, policy, parks management, and biosecurity and biodiversity programmes, as well as managing our own projects, to ensure the protection and restoration of natural features, indigenous ecosystems, habitats, and species on public and private land.

The team has a regional focus with a preference for this role to be based in the City Centre alongside others in the team, with some flexibility to work in other locations.

We will look to you to provide expert advice and champion best practice, with a strong customer focus, to decision-makers and operational programmes as well as delivering your own projects. You are collaborative, innovative, and passionate about delivering outcomes for Auckland’s natural environment.  Ideally, you’ll have 3-5 year’s relevant work experience but don’t let this put you off if you are enthusiastic and a team player! 


Experience managing projects or working as an expert undertaking or reviewing assessments of effects under the Resource Management Act is valued.
