Marina Systems Manager

Date: 28 Mar 2026

Location: Central Auckland, NZ, 1010

Company: Auckland Council

  • Play a critical role supporting Auckland Council marina’s operations and infrastructure
  • Own and optimise marina systems, data, and business processes
  • Combine technical expertise with real-world operational impact

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Resilience and Infrastructure – Property (Marinas Unit) has an opportunity for a Marina Systems Manager within our Marinas team.
This is a pivotal role at the heart of our marina operations, where you will act as the subject matter expert across marina management systems, integrations, and business processes. You’ll ensure systems are secure, reliable, and optimised to support day-to-day marina operations, financial performance, and safety.

You will take a hands-on, technical lead in managing and improving systems, with a strong focus on self-sufficiency and  optimising relationships with external vendors, ensuring continuity of service across marina operations.

Working closely with Marina Managers, vendors, and internal technology teams, you’ll lead system improvements, support users, and drive continuous enhancements across applications, data, and reporting.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Manage and optimise marina systems, including Pacsoft NG, SAP, TallyWeb integrations, and related platforms, ensuring data integrity, performance, and minimal downtime
  • Write, troubleshoot, and maintain SQL queries, scripts, and system integrations, monitoring data flows and system performance across platforms
  • Lead system upgrades, testing (UAT), and implementation of new features and technology, driving continuous improvement across systems and processes
  • Support and train users, resolve system issues, and oversee critical operational systems such as CCTV, access control, and contractor processes
  • Support financial and berthing processes, including invoicing, debtors, creditors, revenue systems, licence holders, and rental arrangements (is the intention to take this responsibility away from the CS team leader?)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve operations, implement risk mitigation, and ensure reliable, secure, and efficient marina service delivery

He kōrero mōu: About you

You’re a highly systems-savvy and technically capable professional who thrives in complex, operational environments. You bring a strong mix of technical expertise, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement, and are comfortable taking ownership in a high-responsibility role.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience in systems management, integration, and support (ideally within marina, property, or asset-based environments)
  • Advanced knowledge of data management, reporting, and analysis, including tools like Excel and TSQL.
  • Hands on experience with DML and RDBMs.
  • Experience working with business systems, financial processes (invoicing, debtors/creditors), and operational platforms
  • Proven ability to lead system improvements, testing (UAT), and implementation of new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train, support, and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Information Systems) or equivalent experience
