He angitūtanga: The opportunity
As a Cadet at Auckland Marinas, you will have the opportunity to work with three marinas: Westhaven Marina, Silo Marina, and Viaduct Marina. You will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of marina operations and learn common practices used worldwide. Additionally, we will support you in achieving the "NZ National Certificate in Marina Facilities and Marina Operations" (Level 4). This certificate offers two specialized strands: Marina & Boatyard Operations or Marina Administration. The knowledge and certification you acquire through this Cadetship will open doors to diverse opportunities in marina operation, construction, and design, both locally and internationally.
The Marina Cadet will perform different tasks through the different teams across the organization: Marina Maintenance, Marina Crew Dockmaster, Marina and Office Administration and Financial Administration.
Please note: This role is safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug testing.
Day-to-day you could expect to work on:
- Greeting customers and enforce rules and guidelines, ensure compliance with electrical connections and berth license size, and provide security presence
- Coordinate berth bookings and manage contractors' access, ensure insurance and electrical fitness is up to date, process invoices and statements, and maintain accurate records
- Produce financial reports, process payments and banking, assist with debt collection, and handle account queries
- Provide accurate information to customers, maintain a clean office environment, manage supplies and documents, and implement new policies and procedures

- Must have NCEA Level 2 in numeracy and literacy (or equivalent)
- May be required to complete pre-employment checks such as drug testing (for safety-sensitive roles) and criminal convictions may be required
- Applicants with criminal convictions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Needs to be eligible to work in New Zealand
