He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Eke Panuku Development Auckland has an exciting full-time permanent opportunity for a marina attendant to become part of our team across three marinas: Westhaven, Viaduct, and Silo marinas. You will join a collaborative team eager to share its wealth of knowledge.
 
The key purpose of this role is to ensure a friendly, safe and secure environment for marina customers and users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This role is customer-centric, requiring a positive and flexible attitude to uphold the premier status of Westhaven, Viaduct, and Silo marinas, ensuring they remain inviting spaces for berth holders, the community and visitors.
 
Please note: This role is deemed safety sensitive and, in line with Auckland Council policy, you will be required to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
 

Day-to-day, you could expect to work on:

  • Being the first point of contact for marina customers
  • Answering customer enquiries and processing berth bookings
  • Meeting and greeting arriving boats
  • Assisting with dock (mooring) lines
  • Ensuring proper power and water connections for arriving boats
  • Informing customers about our facilities (sewage, rubbish disposal, etc) and local amenities

 
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires prior experience in similar customer service roles where you have been in a front-of-house or first point of contact position. While familiarity with boating/marinas is beneficial, our team is highly receptive to training individuals who exhibit the right attitude and eagerness to learn!  
 
You will need to be physically fit and comfortable working outside. You may walk up to 7kms per day around the marinas.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with:

  • Resolving complaints/escalations
  • Moderate IT skills

 
Flexibility to work various shifts is essential. Our roster operates on a 5 days on, 3 days off schedule.

Shifts are:

  • 6am-3pm
  • 1-10pm
  • 9.30pm-6.30am
