He angitūtanga: The opportunity

We’re in the market for a passionate and values-driven Te Puna Creative Hub Manager to lead the successful operation of Te Puna Creative Hub, a flagship innovation space located within the Te Puna Creative Innovation Quarter in Te Kōpua, Henderson. This full-time, fixed-term role (until June 2027) is based onsite and requires someone who is deeply aligned with the established kaupapa and pou (values) that guide how we work, collaborate, and serve our community. Working in partnership with iwi, Te Kawerau-a-Maki, the role supports an ambitious vision for a world-class creative innovation precinct, balancing strong operational accountability with a genuine commitment to helping realise the aspirations of Te Puna — driving creative enterprise, job creation, upskilling and investment across west Auckland.

  • Fostering meaningful connections across tenants, partners, and the wider creative community to activate the hub and strengthen collaboration.
  • Supporting marketing, communications, and business development initiatives to grow awareness and attract creative businesses and opportunities.
  • Coordinating funded Māori economic innovation programmes and contributing to strategic planning that extends the impact and aspirations of the Te Puna Creative Innovation Quarter.

He kōrero mōu: About you

We’re looking for someone who brings a strong mix of operational know-how and relationship-building skills, with confidence managing venues, programmes, and budgets while keeping people at the centre of the work. This role suits someone who communicates clearly, adapts easily, and enjoys solving problems in a fast-moving environment. The ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholders and build trusted partnerships is key, along with an understanding of te ao Māori and tikanga. Experience or interest in the creative industries or innovation ecosystem, and a genuine connection to or knowledge of west Auckland, will help you thrive and contribute meaningfully to the kaupapa of Te Puna.

To be considered you will need at least 5 years’ relevant industry experience. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement listed. What matters most is your ability to contribute to a purpose-driven environment where diverse experiences are valued.
