Auckland Council’s Group Treasury Division has an opportunity for a Lead Financial Analyst to join the Financial Control unit. This role reports directly to the Group Financial Reporting Manager.
This is a critical role for Auckland Council, supporting financial reporting across key entities and contributing to the integrity of group accounting policies.
You could expect to work on:
- Leading statutory and management reporting for Auckland Future Fund, Houkura (Independent Māori Statutory Board), and co-governance entities
- Coordinating and supporting external audits
- Maintaining and enhancing group accounting policies
- Coaching and mentoring junior team members
- Supporting technical accounting and preparing high-quality accounting papers
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires experience in the financial reporting and technical accounting space. You will likely have held senior finance roles within large, complex, and potentially political organisations.
We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a CA firm or large commercial/local government organisation
- CA qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience managing or mentoring staff
- Strong knowledge of NZ accounting standards and reporting legislation
- Experience leading audits and preparing technical accounting papers
