Regulatory Services under the Auckland Council rōpū consists of planners, engineers, inspectors/processors, policymakers, trainers, project managers and so much more. He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The Regulatory Services L&OD team is a high performing, diverse and open-minded squad delivering training across Auckland Council’s Regulatory Services Directorate. In this role you will be developing innovative learning materials and delivering realistic, practical, interactive process driven training to a variety of operational roles within Regulatory Services. The delivery of training will consist of pre-go live and on the job training.


You will be developing practical, easy to use on-the job, classroom and online training materials, defining learning scenarios and exercises and create course data within the relevant systems. You will also be delivering role based, process driven training, ensuring that all learning resources are aligned with our learning principles and accurately reflect our business processes. Furthermore,  your role will see you support of end-users during go-live, provide refresher training sessions, possible train the trainer sessions and travel to various sites throughout Auckland to deliver training.


The overall goal of the role is to ensure that we prepare people to be confident and competent with new processes, systems, and way of working. You will be joining a team that is creative, collaborative and excited by learning together.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You are an Instructional Designer who loves a mixture of contemporary material development and facilitation. You have experience using e-learning authoring tools and can also apply face to face sessions. You thrive in a fast-paced project environment and have the proven ability to manage a classroom and hybrid meetings; and have strong written communication skills – clear, well-structured and suitable for the audience.


You also have the ability to quickly understand and translate process and technical content into end user language based on input from process maps, BA’s and subject matter experts. Your excellent communication skills combined with your appreciation of strong stakeholder relationships will ensure a strong focus on customer-centric delivery, providing first-rate customer service and training solutions.

This would be suitable for someone with a minimum of five to seven years in the adult learning environment. Previous development and delivery experience with SAP, whilst not requisite, would be considered very useful. As this position will require you to occasionally travel around the region using Auckland Council vehicles, you must hold a valid and clean NZ driver’s license.
