He angitūtanga: The opportunity
As the Information Security Manager, your purview includes the supervision and development of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) specialists within the CISO office. Assuming ownership, you will be responsible for the formulation and maintenance of the Information Security Policy alongside associated Standards and Guidelines. Your oversight extends to the meticulous management of the ICT Risk Register, facilitating timely reporting on the risk profile, and ensuring sustained adherence to pertinent standards, notably PCI DSS.

 

Furthermore, your duties encompass the coordination of the Security Awareness program throughout the Council, as well as providing valuable support to Security Consultants and Architects in seamlessly integrating Security Policy into the execution of Council initiatives. Moreover, you will play a pivotal role in supervising the specialized Forensics function, thereby contributing significantly to the holistic management and augmentation of the Council's information security landscape. We are looking for candidates who possess a strong blend of leadership and people management skills, coupled with effective interpersonal capabilities for seamless communication, rapport-building, and negotiation across diverse organizational levels. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are non-negotiable. Demonstrating expertise in Governance, Information Security, Compliance, and Risk Management, the ideal candidate exhibits a high degree of business acumen, striking a balance between pragmatism and prescription through effective risk management. Proven capabilities include the development and implementation of crucial governing artifacts such as Policy, Standards, and Guidelines.

 

Tertiary-level qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry certification, or extensive relevant business experience, are prerequisites. With over a decade of experience in Information Security, including 5+ years in a leadership role within political or highly complex organizations, the candidate should showcase a track record of successful GRC management in medium to large, complicated organizations. Keeping abreast of industry trends in Information Security, Cloud services, and Cyber technologies is imperative for this pivotal role.
