As an Information Security Consultant, your role encompasses providing authoritative guidance on Information Security measures and implementing strategies to maintain risk within acceptable thresholds. This involves advising on mitigating actions to safeguard against potential threats while ensuring adherence to established Security Policies and industry best practices, particularly in supporting Architect teams during the execution of Council initiatives.

 

Additionally, you play a pivotal role in formulating and executing Information Security Strategy, Roadmap, and Controls, thereby bolstering the overall security posture. Furthermore, your expertise serves as a crucial escalation point for Security Operations in handling intricate incidents and change requests, ensuring swift and effective resolution in line with organizational security objectives.

We are ideally looking for candidates with a blend of strategic thought leadership and adept interpersonal skills.  Your ability to effectively communicate, build rapport, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders across all organizational tiers is complemented by their exceptional verbal and written proficiency. This enables you to articulate complex security concepts and negotiate solutions while fostering collaborative relationships across diverse teams. Moreover, they demonstrate a nuanced understanding of business dynamics, skillfully balancing pragmatism with risk management to facilitate informed decision-making aligned with organizational objectives. With a steadfast focus on delivery, they leverage their comprehensive grasp of design practices and Information Security best practices, particularly within Agile frameworks, to drive impactful security solutions.

 

The key requirements for this role include:

  • Tertiary-level qualifications, preferably in disciplines such as Law, Computer Science, or Information Technology, supplemented by relevant industry certifications, or possess equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Information Security, including a minimum of five years in roles involving design or consulting within politically sensitive or highly complex organizational contexts.
  • Have the ability to remain abreast of industry trends in Information Security, Cloud services, and Cyber technologies, ensuring their recommendations remain aligned with the evolving threat landscape and the dynamic needs of the organization.
