Information Management Technical Lead

Auckland Council is undergoing a major transformation, supported by one of the most extensive technology capabilities in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are seeking an experienced Information Management Technical Lead to drive the transformation and modernisation of our enterprise document and records management solution.

In this role, you will shape the future of our platform, guiding solution delivery and ensuring our tools are secure, scalable, and optimised to meet the needs of Auckland Council across Group Shared Services. Working within our Agile Release Trains (ARTs), you’ll collaborate with product owners, product managers, and system architects to deliver product roadmaps, lead complex migrations, and champion continuous improvement.

You are an information management specialist with proven experience designing, delivering, and optimising enterprise-scale information management solutions. Skilled in OpenText and SharePoint Online. You have led complex system migrations, integrated Microsoft technologies such as Purview, Power Platform, and Power Automate, and applied APIs and scripting (REST API, Microsoft Graph API, PowerShell) to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

 

Ngā āhuatanga kei a koe: What you will bring

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a complex technology environment, ideally within local government or a similarly large organisation.
  • Proven experience delivering and supporting large-scale EDRMS solution migrations.
  • Specialist expertise in OpenText and SharePoint Online, including SPFx, workflows, metadata management, and security/label policies.
  • Advances Microsoft skills, including Purview, Power Platform, Power Automate, SharePoint Advanced Management, and integration via REST API, Microsoft Graph API, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experienced with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance productivity and delivery
  • Understanding of scanning and digitisation technologies and how they integrate into EDRMS workflows.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery frameworks (e.g. SAFe) and ITIL best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
