Our Healthy Waters & Flood Resilience department is looking for a Healthy Waters Specialist – Operations IT Programme Specialist to join the team and play a pivotal role in delivering successful, quality, timely, and cost-effective stormwater solutions. 


Reporting to the Manager Regional Operations and sitting in the Regional Operations Team, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to improving Healthy Waters IT & Operational systems, dashboards, and reporting.


This role requires a strong affinity with technology and the drive to innovate, providing future-proof IT/Operational business solutions and supporting wider operations teams during natural events. 


Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Overseeing technology development for operational business and managing IT/system incidents.
  • Engaging with suppliers, consultants, and contractors undertaking IT/system work.
  • Providing systems support to ensure continuity for all teams in day-to-day tasks.
  • Communicating urgent issues or upcoming changes to ensure business readiness.
  • Supporting wider operations teams with coordination and reporting during natural events.
  • Collaborating actively with Healthy Waters operational and planning staff, other council departments, and external partners.

We will be looking for the following specific qualifications and experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards full membership.
  • 3+ years’ experience in three waters or other infrastructure sector.
  • 2+ years’ experience in utility asset management, including understanding of ISO 55000 and hands-on knowledge of IIMM.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and proven ability to work with a variety of software applications.
  • Knowledge of advanced data analytics tools and techniques.
