He angitūtanga: The opportunity

As Health, Safety & Welfare Manager (HSWM), you will report to the Director of Regulatory Services and advise on health and safety management across regulatory services at all levels. The HSWM will promote a safe and healthy working environment across the directorate by increasing building safety capabilities through targeted training, coaching, mentoring, best practice risk-based system development and implementation, information dissemination, audit coordination and continuous improvement. The HSWM will develop and implement policies and safe work procedures for staff as well as consultants/contractors. You will lead and coach managers and team leaders in the application and management of H&S within their teams.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

You are a people person who is passionate about assisting others and identifying ways to make processes more efficient, and with sufficient experience in implementing health and safety programmes to effect and reinforce culture change. You have a diploma in health and safety management or a similar tertiary qualification and are registered as an accredited health and safety professional with either NZSC or NZISM. You are someone experienced in root cause analysis investigation techniques and can engage with a wide range of people in a busy and complex environment, including with outsourced contractors. Most importantly, you are experienced establishing and implementing robust H&S systems and processes, including auditing and reporting.
