We are seeking a visionary Head of Digital Technology Operations to join our Information and Communications Technology team. In this pivotal role, you will shape the future of technology operations for Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) and play a crucial role in delivering exceptional digital services to our diverse community.

 

He angitūtanga: The Opportunity
The Head of Digital Technology Operations holds a critical role in managing the availability of technology operations for our organization. This includes overseeing applications, both on-premise and cloud-based, web platforms, and data platforms. Additionally, you will lead and be responsible for our core infrastructure, such as networks, Wi-Fi, and servers, provided by the Council ICT team. A key aspect of this role is ensuring high customer satisfaction by promptly resolving service desk tickets.

 

The role also plays a proactive and preventative function in managing digital assets, as well as leading teams to meet service-level requests for applications and platforms. Collaborative efforts to drive continuous improvement and leadership within the Digital Team are fundamental aspects of this role.

He kōrero mōu: About You
Candidates for this role should possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, and superior problem-solving skills. Flexibility, adaptability, political acumen, and a deep understanding of technology operations are essential. An understanding of local government functions would be an asset. The ideal candidate should have a track record of managing large-scale technology operations, strong technical knowledge, financial literacy, and the ability to drive significant non-linear change. Integrity, communication skills, organizational ability, and talent recruitment experience are also critical.

 

The qualifications required include a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, 10+ years of experience in complex ICT environments, and more than 5 years of leadership experience within an organization that has a disciplined approach to managing budgets.
