He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Auckland Council’s Group Treasury division has an opportunity for a Group Technical Accounting Manager to join the Financial Control team.

 

This is a critical role for the Council and will focus on leading the group consolidation and financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing technical accounting advice across the organisation.

 

You could expect to work on:

· Leading the group reporting function and managing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

· Reviewing group consolidation and financial statements

· Ensuring compliance with NZ IPSAS and legislative requirements

· Acting as the key contact for group auditors and external advisers

· Driving measurable improvements in reporting processes

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

This role requires experience in the technical accounting and financial reporting space. You will have experience in similar roles within large, complex, and potentially political organisations.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

· CA qualification or equivalent

· Minimum 5 years post-CA experience in a large commercial or government organisation

· Experience preparing or auditing consolidated financial statements

· Auditing background, ideally from a Big 4 firm

· Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and legislation
