Auckland Council’s Group Reporting team has an opportunity for a Group Financial Reporting Manager to join the CFO division. This role reports directly to the Group Financial Controller and leads a team of eight.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring Auckland Council Group and related entities deliver transparent, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
You could expect to work on:
- Leading group-wide financial reporting frameworks and standards
- Managing auditor relationships and overseeing audit processes
- Driving improvements in reporting through data visualisation and clear language
- Leading special projects to enhance reporting across the group
Please note this is a fixed term position until April 2027
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires deep expertise in financial reporting and control within large, complex organisations. You will likely have experience in senior finance leadership roles.
We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, or similar
- Professional registration with CAANZ, CFA or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience leading teams
- At least 5 years’ experience in a senior financial control role in the public sector
- Exceptional knowledge of NZ accounting standards and reporting legislation
