The Auckland Council Treasury Department has an opportunity for a Manager to join our Grants and Incentives team.

Please note, this is a 1 year fixed term opportunity. 

 

In this role you would lead a team of 14 direct reports, focusing on developing and fostering a strong team environment that supports collaboration and high performance. 

You will also be responsible for ensuring your teams processes are fit for purpose and meet both legislation and the needs of the business.    

 

Day-to-day you can expect to work on:

  • Lead, develop and manage delivery of regional and local board contestable grant schemes
  • Identify and develop opportunities, tools, and methodologies for incentivising community projects
  • Lead the development and implementation of grant application assessments, evaluations, monitoring and reporting processes for all programme deliverables
  • Identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with colleagues to implement a consistent and effective approach across the division.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

You will have at least 5 years’ experience in either a team leader or manager position, with at least 10 years’ experience in an operational, policy and strategy environment.

Knowledge and experience working in the community development or arts and culture sector would be highly desirable, though not mandatory.

 

With your experience, you’ll have a sound understanding of community engagement and development of community partnerships and be comfortable with direct reporting (written and oral) to political / governance / grant decision makers. You’ll understand how to develop and maintain successful strong stakeholder relationships in complex situations and working with culturally diverse communities. 

 

Leadership experience will mean you’re also comfortable with building, developing and supporting high performing teams, which includes coaching, mentoring and performance management. 

 

A current and relevant NZ Driver’s licence is required, or other applicable way of travelling across the region.
