The Auckland Council Data Solutions Practice is passionate about transforming Auckland through the power of location intelligence. We operate an enterprise GIS that underpins a wide range of solutions for the Council and our customers.

We are looking for a Geospatial Specialist to support continual improvement in the scope, quality and management of our geospatial data, systems and processes. You will apply your experience with Esri (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online) and Safe (FME) technologies, using industry best practice, to maintain and support the Geospatial platform.

You will also contribute to successful customer outcomes, providing quality advice on the use of geospatial technology and data to solve business problems.


He kōrero mōu: About you

You will be an energetic and experienced GIS professional with 2+ years’ demonstrable experience in Esri and Safe technologies.

You will bring:

  • Experience with enterprise-level GIS platforms, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Portal, and FME
  • Support continual improvement and best practice in geospatial systems, data management, and processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A proactive, inquisitive mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies would be advantageous
  • A tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s degree minimum) in Geospatial Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
