He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Auckland Council’s Group Finance division has a brand new opportunity for a Finance Workstream Lead to join the Financial Advisory team, reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering.

 

In this newly created role you’ll have the responsibility to lead the Finance Workstream supporting the Group Shared Services programme, work closely with the programme team, provide timely and outcomes with regards to a shared services construct, business cases and the recharge model across the Council group.

 

The role is further supported by a modeller and process analyst.

 

Please note this is a fixed term role until 29 August 2026

 

You could expect to work on:

· Engage closely with the programme team to align efforts and expectations

· Support and co-ordinate efforts as required with GMs and/or project leads/programme

· Lead the implementation of the cost recovery model, coordinate with different teams, track progress, and ensure timely completion of tasks

· Providing solutions and insights that support decision-making to support outcomes

· Support development of future business cases

· Support the future operating model design, specifically the finance processes relating to future state

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

This role requires experience in project management, the ability to work collaboratively and at pace through support and drive financial outcomes, including assessing and evaluating financial data and objectively presentingoptions and results.

 

You will have experience in finance, accounting or other business related area. You will also have demonstrated experience in transformational change, leading and/or contributing to significant change projects in a complex environment and be skilled at senior stakeholder engagement.

 

Experience in Group Shared Services implementation preferred but not essential.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

·Professional registration CA or similar.

·Understanding of shared services construct principles and recharge models

·Previous experience in preparing quality information and engaging with senior leadership teams.
