We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Field Manager to join our Animal Management team in a vital new leadership role. If you're passionate about driving performance, leading great people, and making a difference in our communities — this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
In this role, you'll lead and inspire a team of Team Leaders and Animal Management Officers, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and a strong focus on community service. You'll play a central part in shaping and delivering our long-term strategies, improving efficiency, and creating a high-performing, supportive work environment.
This is your chance to lead from the front — building strong relationships, managing resources strategically, and helping embed a culture of continuous improvement and care across the team and the city.
This is a permanent full-time term role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Location Auckland House, 135 Albert Street, Auckland.

You’re a skilled leader who brings out the best in people. With deep experience in operations, compliance, or regulatory services, you’re calm under pressure, forward-thinking, and passionate about public service. You know how to run a tight ship — from managing budgets and workforce planning to engaging with key stakeholders and driving positive cultural change.
You’re also:
- A strong communicator who builds trust and leads with integrity
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to getting things done
- Committed to health, safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement
You’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification, along with 15+ years of experience and at least 10 years in a leadership role within a large, complex organisation. Experience in legal or regulatory services is a bonus.
