We are seeking a talented Event Coordinator to join our high performing team.


He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Live and Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events is custodian of some of the most iconic venues in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland including the Aotea Centre, The Civic, the Auckland Town Hall, the Bruce Mason Centre, Queens Wharf and Aotea Square.

Reporting to the Team Leader - Event Delivery, the key purpose of this role is to plan and coordinate the delivery of events programmed and presented by Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events, with a focus on providing exceptional service to our clients. As an Event Coordinator you will build and coordinate logistics, maintain relationships with a range of national and international clients, internal staff, and external suppliers to bring their event to life, at one or more of our iconic venues.


This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be a part of the team that plans and delivers approximately 800 events every year.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, delivering, and monitoring event logistics within strict timelines and budgets, with a focus on providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Monitoring and tracking event financials including raising quotes and invoices.
  • Liaising with clients and the Auckland Unlimited health and safety team to ensure health a safety documentation is received and approved within the required timeframes.
  • Providing reporting to management and contributing to team and business planning as required.
  • Participating in relevant projects with other teams or departments on a project basis to deliver high quality innovative activities as appropriate.

He kōrero mōu: About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of two years' experience in an event management /coordination role or similar. Experience with conferences, meetings, or gala dinners is imperative and experience with performing arts will be an advantage.

You will bring your strong communication and relationship building skills, attention to detail, and have a passion for the events and entertainment industry, You will be deadline driven, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while still retaining a high level of accuracy.

Please be aware: The role is 40-hours per week, generally Monday to Friday, however flexibility is required as there will be occasional work outside of business hours, including evenings and weekends.
