We provide unique discovery experiences to ensure present and future generations can continue the legacy of innovators, of dreamers, and of pioneers.

 

Now, picture yourself as the catalyst of inspiration, igniting young minds with the Learning and Education Manager as your guiding light and Leader. In this exhilarating role, you'll shape and elevate Hui Te Ananui A Tangaroa's reputation as a leading educational destination and resource for Tāmaki Makaurau.

 

During term time, you'll have the incredible opportunity to engage with students daily, planting seeds of knowledge and fostering growth. And when school breaks come, you'll unleash your creative powers, crafting new lessons and materials that will shape the educational vibrant tapestry.

 

This permanent, full-time position invites you to embark on a captivating journey, Monday through Friday, as you explore the depths of educational excellence.

Core aspects of this role:

  • Effectively develop, where required, and deliver high quality, creative educational programmes for all museum audiences. This will include but not be limited to Enriching Local Curriculum (ELC) led programmes.
  • Meet the core requirements of the Ministry of Education ELC contract. These unique and engaging educational experiences shall complement and enrich classroom learning. They will be hands-on, interactive learning experiences for children and young people. 
  • Work in partnership with schools, other educational institutions, and visitors to ensure that the programmes meet their learning needs and support effective teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the values and culture of Hui Te Ananui a Tangaroa.

As an Educator, you possess the remarkable ability to breathe life into our museum, transforming it into a hub of inspiration and growth. With your radiant personality and unwavering enthusiasm for learning, you'll leave an indelible mark on every visitor's experience. Your exceptional talents as an educator, communicator, and organizer will take centre stage.

 

Naturally, you'll bring New Zealand teaching experience, coupled with a relevant teaching qualification. In addition, you'll possess:

• A thorough understanding of Te Ao Māori and a confident command of te reo is vital, enriching the cultural fabric of our team and programmes.

• A proven track record in developing educational initiatives that resonate with diverse audiences.

• Flexibility and resilience, upholding the highest standards of professionalism as you navigate a dynamic educational landscape.

• A hardworking, adaptable, and reliable personality, breathing life into every endeavour and embracing the challenges that come your way.

Salary: 60-65k based on skillset and experience
