Editor
Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is the home of art for Auckland, its people and visitors, and a cultural leader in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Gallery's purpose is to be a creative catalyst for art and ideas, offering transformational experiences that strengthen and enrich our communities.
Audiences are at the heart of Gallery activities, which extend from our redeveloped and expanded site in the arts and learning precinct of inner-city Auckland.
We are currently looking for an Editor to join our team on a permanent, fulltime basis.
You will manage in-Gallery and digital interpretation, help coordinate the Gallery’s publishing programme, and work with writers, designers, and printers to deliver high-quality content. The role includes creating engaging copy, supporting educational resources, and championing te reo Māori and other languages to ensure the Gallery's publishing and communications are inclusive and accecssible.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organised publishing professional with a bachelor’s degree in Art History, English Literature, Communications, or a related field, complemented by a postgraduate publishing qualification or equivalent experience.

You’ll bring at least three years’ publishing experience with proven skills in editing, proofreading, and copywriting.

Your strengths will include project management, research, and stakeholder engagement, paired with a commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and the highest professional standards.

The salary range for this position is $85,000k to $100,000k per annum, skill set and experience dependant. (Band F )
